Luke 10:25-37

As we look at the Parable of the Good Samaritan, we see that the man's action went beyond simple compassion. He willingly took on the burdens of someone else. It cost him time and finances, and he was willing to get his hands dirty to care for him. Compassion can also have an emotional toll, but Jesus made it clear that there are eternal rewards.

1 Corinthians 4

Are you free of other people's opinion of you, or your opinion of yourself? There's a way of life that allows Jesus and His acceptance and love for us to provide the freedom to no longer live for the opinion of others, but only as faithful servants and stewards of Jesus. As we live with that freedom, we discover the spiritual and life-altering power of the Kingdom of God in our own lives.

John 15:9-17

We begin looking at the Biblical vision of people being together with God. God created us to fellowship with Him, but desires to see us loving others also. To Jesus, friendship means being willing to lay down our lives for others. That doesn't mean simply accepting their "authentic self", but being willing to minister to their true needs.

John 4:1-30

Worship is another aspect of our relationship with God. When Jesus meets the woman at the well, we see that nobody who meets Jesus stays the same. We learn that God seeks after us. Our response should be a life of worship, recognizing the Spirit's presence with us.

Colossians 3:17

Our relationship with God involves rest, work, worship and prayer. Work is what we do during the day. We are called to do everything for God in word and deed. God's work in this world needs to be reflected in our work in the world. We should reflect God's goodness, love and grace in all we do. The Gospel provides a purpose for our life.

Hebrews 3:7-4:16

After Creation, God rested, and Eden was a place where man experienced God's presence. Sin then separated us from the rest that comes with His presence, but Christ's sacrifice has made it possible to experience it again. Are you too maxed out with activity to have a Sabbath rest? Trust in God's faithfulness and love, and take time to rest.

Luke 11:1-13

As we continue the sermon series, "People Together with God", we explore prayer as our connection with God. In Luke's account of the Lord's Prayer, we identify what should be the content of prayer, and then consider our expectations of response to our prayers. He promises provision, forgiveness, and the coming of His Kingdom.

John 13:35

We begin a new sermon series "People Together with God". We were created to fellowship with God, but sin broke that connection. As a result, we are missing the eternal. Nevertheless, Jesus reconciled us back to God. Are we sharing our lives with each other as Jesus shared his life with us? We need to ignite the witness of the Church.

John 21:1-19

As we conclude a miniseries surrounding the resurrection of Jesus, we see Jesus inviting the disciples to eat breakfast with him on shore, after the miraculous catch of fish. Having proved his resurrection, he takes time for final interaction with his disciples. The resurrected Jesus is still in the business of encountering people every day.

John 20:19-31

After the resurrection of Jesus, the disciples still gathered in a locked room out of fear, until Jesus appeared and showed them his wounds. Thomas was not present then, and also expressed doubt when they told him about it. Jesus appeared again and made a point to address Thomas, showing him as well. Despite our questions and doubts, Jesus will make himself known to us.
