As Jesus continues His sermon on the mount, he addresses issues of divorce, oaths, revenge, and relationships, by promoting marriage, integrity, forgiveness and grace, all of which will lead to human flourishing.

Matthew 5:17-30

As Jesus continues His sermon on the mount, He makes it clear that He did not come to abolish the laws that God had previously laid down, but that they continue to have their purpose of revealing man's sinful nature. We all fall short. His purpose in coming was to be the one who could perfectly fulfill the Law, and eventually reunite us with God the Father.

Matthew 5:13-16

Pastor Dan continues the series on the Sermon on the Mount by examining the challenge from Jesus for His followers to be salt and light in this world. James 1:1-4

The apostle James challenges the early church to understand that the trials in life develop spiritual maturity, if we persevere in faith. We can rejoice in God, because the testing of our faith becomes a means to grow in our understanding of God and His purposes. As we see Him move in each trial, we're better able to face the future.

2 Timothy 4:1-4

Paul's exhortation to Timothy applies to all of us. We should be ready at any time to minister God's Word. It's important to believe and live sound doctrine, so we don't get swept into deception and false doctrine. The basics of sound doctrine involve sacrifice, humility, and endurance.

Luke 9:20-36

Stephen begins by explaining the circumstances before the Transfiguration, then shows how the response of the disciples can be a lesson to all of us. When we set our minds on the things of man and not the ways of God, we can miss the fullness of the glory of Jesus. We need to listen, to see the bigger picture. 

Matthew 1:18-25; 2:13-23

Sometimes Joseph's role in the birth and early life of Jesus is overlooked. Elder Joel Porter shows the important lessons we can learn from him. As a righteous man, he wrestled with how to handle Mary's divine pregnancy, but once the angel explained it, he obeyed. As Joseph continued to discern and obey God's direction for their lives, so we too should learn to hear and obey God's voice.

Luke 2:1-21
