GOOD START…or GREAT FINISH?

Everyone loves to get off to a good start in anything they set out to do… But those who start well don’t always finish well!

We know that to be true in both athletic events and academic endeavors…and the same is true in ministry. There have been some that started well, but did not finish with the same faith, truth, and commitment to Christ and his word.

Does the Bible have anything to say about this? What happened to people who started well in the faith, but did not end well? How did they lose strength, focus and faith and not endure to the end? What can we learn from these examples to make sure we don’t make the same mistakes?… We want to stand firm in the faith and the truth of Gods word!…and FINISH WELL!!!

This battle is not a physical one against flesh and blood, but a SPIRITUAL battle of eternal significance!

False teaching had come into the church, twisting scripture, turning grace into a license to sin, and thus denying the Lordship of Christ.

Jude calls all believers to contend for the faith…but why is it important? What is at stake if we don’t? What excuses are common to not stand up for truth? Is it “loving” to contend for the faith and stand up for truth? how are we to stand and contend for the faith today?

False teachers had crept in to the church, and were twisting scripture, perverting Grace and were pulling people away from the faith by causing confusion and making people question Gods authority and truth.

Sound familiar?…the church faces the same destructive false teachings today!

DON’T WASTE THE DASH!!!

On a tombstone… You see the person‘s name, the date they were born and the date they died… And the time in between those dates is presented as a DASH.

Did you ever think it’s ironic that everything a person ever accomplished, every decision they ever made… The entire life they lived is represented by a DASH?

Our life here on this earth goes by quickly… Often times it seems like a dash… Small, insignificant, overlooked…here today and gone tomorrow.

So in the midst of life‘s hustle and bustle, past and present difficulties and challenges, how do we know we’re making the most of the time we have here?

How can we leave a legacy that lasts beyond the final date of our tombstone?
How do we know our life matters?

DID GOD REALLY SAY???…the first question recorded in the Bible, asked by the serpent to Eve in Genesis 3:1 to create doubt regarding God's command. It represents a foundational challenge to divine authority, questioning, twisting, or denying God's word. It is often used to make God's instructions seem unreasonable or restrictive.

How many times have you heard someone question God’s word and authority?

Throughout history, there have been many people who did what was right in their own eyes because they questioned God’s word and authority, His requirements for Heaven, and his plan of Redemption. Today, there are many people doing the same thing.

Unstoppable

Due to the snow and wintry weather, we will perform and tape our service tomorrow, Saturday the 24th at 11 AM… We are opening the doors for you to come relax and worship with us!… There will be free coffee, hot chocolate, and even some donuts available!
