To Whoever Needs It… 

We suffer more often than we allow the world to see. It’s not easy to talk about and most people won’t understand what you are going through so you keep quiet and act like everything is okay… even when it’s not. I wanted to take the time to share that you aren’t alone and you don’t have to continue to suffer in silence. If you haven’t done this already, please take the time to connect with a counselor. Take the time to go to the doctor if you aren’t feeling well. Spend some time strategizing about what YOU need. Vocalize how you are so you can work to create change and improve your health, mindset, work, household and overall environment. Whatever you care about deserves the best version of yourself and you can get to a place where you are happy more often than not. It is possible. It does get better. One day at a time. 

I pray that you tap into all the strength you have within you and that you use it to cultivate self love and healing habits. Do what you need to do for yourself to become a top priority. You deserve to be first. You deserve to be happy. 

I wanted to share my experience job hunting because it was an important reminder that I still have work to do. It’s okay to be talented and still want to progress. I got a job that I was overqualified for but just wanted my foot in the door and within less than a year, I received two promotions and almost doubled my salary. I grew quickly because I was qualified but I was not qualified for the initial positions I was applying for during my job search. It’s important to be honest with yourself and outline stepping stones needed for you to accomplish your goals… personally or professionally. 

In this episode ‘Take Care of Yourself” I bring awareness to the challenge of balancing your goals and long to-do lists with the reality of how you feel and what you actually get done. We might want to do 100 things in a week but our motivation, time, and exhaustion might only produce completing 10. Not finishing everything you need to and not accomplishing all you hope to accomplish can be discouraging. I want to encourage each of you to take the time to take care of yourself above everything. Prioritize pouring into yourself, cultivating good habits and making sure you are good. Everything else will be positively impacted by your positive outlook and heathy lifestyle. We often pour into our business, job, kids, family, etc before ourselves and that model is not sustainable if you want to enjoy your life. You have to come first. Join me on this journey of self care and take the time to write out an updated wellness plan. Focus on what you want, what you need, timeframe of your goals and how you are going to take action. Episode 24 titled “Restructuring Your Life” is a combination of lessons and examples. I wanted to outline steps I have taken that have helped me restructure my life but also wanted to make sure to give you examples where these steps worked and created a positive impact. Change isn’t always comfortable but in this episode I encourage you to go through your process so you can get to the other side of the discomfort and be operating on a solid foundation. Here are some of the things I discuss in this episode: Take the time to self reflect. Identify what works and what doesn’t work. Focus on your health and wellness. Create business plans, life plans and budget consistently. Identify short term goals and long term goals. Create a strategic plan to achieve your goals. Pivot and create CHANGE. You can’t do the same thing and expect different results. Hire a professional, expert, business and / or life coach and seek mentorship. This episode “Finish What You Start” is about my recent experience completing a 17 year journey in pursuit of a bachelors degree. My goal with this episode is to give you a quick life update since I haven’t published an episode since February and encourage you to finish that project or assignment you’ve been thinking about. Keep working towards your goals. Continue to push the agenda forward. Don’t give up. Finish what you start. It doesn’t matter how long it takes…what is meant for you will be for you. Cultivate your community and surround yourself with positive, healthy relationships.
