Alexandra Millet, MD discusses a new study shows that accuracy improves and recall rates decrease when DBT or AI-CAD are used as adjuncts to DM alone for surveillance of the ipsilateral and contralateral breasts in women with a personal history of breast cancer after BCT, indicating that these additional methods can reduce unnecessary callbacks. In the ipsilateral breast, addition of AI-CAD resulted in lower recall rates and higher accuracy than did the addition of DBT. This suggests that AI-CAD may help address the challenges of post-BCT surveillance mammograms.
