Dearly beloved one of the weapons of our all-round victory is intimacy with God the Father, in His Word and via His Spirit we become empowered by His grace and wisdom to win the victory. Don’t set the affections of your heart on this world or in loving the things of the world. The love of the Father and the love of the world are incompatible. For all that the world can offer us — the gratification of our flesh, the allurement of the things of the world, and the obsession with status and importance — none of these things come from the Father but from the world. This world and its desires are in the process of passing away, but those who love to do the will of God live forever.

Every Child of God has been called to overcome including you. You can overcome the world and it's allures.

Dearly beloved, let's delve deeper into the teaching of the overcoming life by learning further about the three formidable forces we battle against. Apostle James gives us a perspective that is relatively same with what we learnt yesterday from the Apostle Paul.  He says "If you consider yourself to be wise and one who understands the ways of God, advertise it with a beautiful, fruitful life guided by wisdom’s gentleness. Never brag or boast about what you’ve done and you’ll prove that you’re truly wise. But if there is bitter jealousy or competition hiding in your heart, then don’t deny it and try to compensate for it by boasting and being phony. For that has nothing to do with God’s heavenly wisdom but can best be described as the wisdom of this WORLD, both SELFISH and DEVLISH - James 3:13-15. The Word of God is the power of God unto salvation, it is the Sword of the Spirit which has a double edge. It pierces and divides the soul asunder. It is to be used offensively in combating the enemy. The Word can be used to destroy evil strongholds erected in our minds. Jesus our Lord employed the weapon of the Word to gain an all-round victory over the tempter, Satan the devil. How then do we think we can win the battles confronting us without the weapon of the word?
