In response Trump, his allies, and the GOP have launched a new ad blitz is key states specifically over impeachment. Meanwhile 2020 Democrats are doing their best to distance themselves from impeachment saying they need to focus on issues Americans care about. Impeachment is an overall disaster for Democrats and it seems like the House Democrats may be sabotaging the 2020 Democratic contenders by lumping them into an unwinnable battle. Not only is impeachment bad for Democrats in swing districts but its given Trump the ability to fight along tribal lines and ignoring kitchen table issues while blaming Democrats for why he isn't campaigning specifically on them. Meanwhile Democrats have to justify why they aren't campaigning on the issues and why they keep trying to investigate the president.
