Ugly Crying

Imposter Syndrome is GOOD for you - How to BE the RIGHT version of you without feeling FAKE.

Listen Later

What did you think you were really good at - until you saw someone who was *actually* really good at it?

What are the RIGHT questions to ask yourself when you feel you're not good enough, when you feel you're a fraud, when you feel like someone is going to expose you and find out you're not as awesome as they think you are?

Why is imposter syndrome GOOD for you?

How to deal with imposter syndrome - big takeaways:

  • You don’t owe anyone an explanation of your expertise. People question if you’re qualified? Why do they need to know? If you’re certain what you’re offering or who you are drives results, that’s all that matters.

  • You can’t please everyone – there’s some stuff I say online that people disagree with. My parents disagree with me on things. I’m sure there are others who think I overshare or post too much on my stories. But I don’t say ‘F you and what you think’. That’s just disrespectful and unnecessary. I say ‘Cool. I respect everyone’s opinion, even if you disagree. Thank you for being honest and I’m keeping doing what’s good for me and what feels true or real to me. I choose to care more about my values than others.’ And I move on with my merry way.

  • Imposter Syndrome is HEALTHY – if we all believed in ourselves 100% of the time, the world would fall apart because as order brings chaos, and chaos brings orders, we’d all have entitlement up our ass' and think we’re the best. But with everyone being the best, the best becomes the norm and no one is really the best.
