Pashtana Durrani, an Afghani activist, is the founder and Executive Director of Learn Afghanistan, an organization that works towards making education and healthcare accessible through smart solutions in rural Afghanistan. Learn Afghanistan has a variety of projects, from digital literacy, Menstrual hygiene management program, teacher training program and maternal healthcare which trains midwives. She is the global youth representative for Amnesty International and has been awarded the Malala Fund Education Champion Award.
In this episode Pashtana talks at length about her childhood as a Refugee, about how her father had to fight the society in order to give her the education she deserved and also tells me about what keeps her going in staying courageous, brave and a powerhouse that she is, as she continues to speak up to the international media about the situation Afghanistan.
She is an inspiration to me and I cannot emphasis enough on amplifying the voices, works and intentions of women like Pashtana in the world.
Pashtana is doing everything possible to create a sustainable environment in Afghanistan for young girls and women.
