It's time for another edition of TV TUESDAYS, and it truly wouldn't be a day centered around television content if host, Zacary Landolt, didn't touch on the Academy Awards ceremony that aired this past weekend! So if you are a fellow awards show nerd like him, then you'll get a quick rundown on that, at the start of the episode. If none of that is really your thing, then you can skip ahead to about ten minutes in, and jump straight into the newest recap of Smash! 

And Zacary is thrilled to welcome fabulous performer, Kris Carrasco, to the show to discuss episode five, "let's be bad". They had a blast unpacking the true diva vs diva energy of this particular episode, as well as, highlighting what just may be the best musical number that this series ever created. 

Among other things, you'll hear who they award points to on the Karen vs Ivy "Marilyn leaderboard", and as always, Zacary presents his "Karen moment of the week". It's a really fun episode this week, so come be bad with these two! 

It's time for another edition of TV Tuesdays, and this week I'm joined by a friend of the show, actor/singer/dancer/podcaster, Nick Eibler! He drops by to talk about Smash, season one, episode four, "The Cost of Art". This episode is filled with catty dancers, and special guest star, a baby Nick Jonas!

Nick gives his thoughts of the depictions of broadway ensemble members on the show, and gives more points to add to the "Marilyn leaderboard", getting us closer to finding out who is declared the definitive Marilyn, in the epic battle of Karen vs. Ivy! 

And of course I highlight the "Karen moment of the week", which is just a moment where Karen Cartwright made my eyes roll.

Freddy's back...again! That means it is time for another edition of Film Fridays, on the In Another World podcast! Today, guest co-host Devyn Ray, and I, talk about the third entry in the Elm Street series. It's an 80s horror extravaganza, with early performances from actors, Patricia Arquette, and Lawrence Fishburne (or "Larry" as he is credited here). This film also sees the return of the character of Nancy! 

We unpack every moment, every scare, EVERY dream sequence! And as always we will reward our "scream queen of the week", and highlight our "kill of the week". It sounds morbid I know, but we truly have a fun time here highlighting the dark humor of the Freddy Kruger material. 

Joining the show for another edition of "TV Tuesdays", is a hilarious actor/comedian who appeared on season one of In Another World, and who has a KILLER Patti Lupone impression, that's right, It's Jonathan Hoover! I also later found out that the day this episode comes out is also Jonathan's birthday! So sending out all good vibes, and thoughts to him! 

He drops by to recap episode three of the NBC musical series, Smash. Today's episode, Enter Mr Dimaggio, sees Ivy getting awfully close to director, Derek Wills, and Karen heads off to Iowa for a friend's baby shower (oh Karen). We also see the musical's creative team start to look at actors for the role of baseball star, Joe Dimaggio, which brings a man into the mix, from Julia's past. Is there a secret that she needs to share with writing partner, Tom?

As always we add points to the Marilyn leaderboad, which tracks who is the lead to be given the honor as THE definitive Marilyn. Are you team Ivy? or team Karen?? 

And I highlight my "Karen moment of the week"!

We had a SMASHingly good time talking about this weeks episode, so forgive all of the tangents (they're charming right?).

It's time for another edition of "film Fridays", and on today's show, we're discussing whats been considered one of the queerest, and arguably unintentionally, subversive, mainstream horror films ever: A Nightmare on Elm Street 2- Freddy's revenge! 

It came out very quickly after the success of the first film, and let's just say the speed to release really shows. I had a blast with my guest co-host, Devyn Ray, as we dove into all of the truly wild details of this film, in the "Elm Street" series. There's discussion of the Meryl Streep lookalike (honestly it was distracting), the homoerotic subtext, the BDSM death scene, and of course the psycho bird. Also, why didn't Mark get to kiss the hot guy! Bummer!

Well let's go talk the man of our dreams (and nightmares) Freddy Kruger, and talk about our "scream queen of the week"!

Well everyone, we did it! We made it through the first season of "In Another World", and its been a fun ride! We had a ton of great episodes, with some fab guests, but I had to get someone really special to close things out, and that is person is, Tom Cornell! Tom is a co-host of the podcasts "It Bears Repeating", and "Wreck Collect". In honor of having Tom here, we play a game that's played on "Wreck Collect": "Bop? or stop?". And just in time for the end of the year, we are playing the game, using our Spotify wrapped 2020 playlists. For details on the game, and how it works, you'll have to listen to the episode, won't ya? 

We also discussed Tom's past with Rupaul's Drag Race, and hosting a recap podcast (which is how I originally came to know Tom). Tom gives me some advice as I set off into uncharted waters, with my own RPDR recap show (to be co-hosted with Arron Holman), that will be coming in the new year. 

Tom and I had a blast, and therefore things went a little long. BUT! It's the season finale! So we had to have some giggles, and give you plenty of content to tide you over until "In Another World", comes back at ya in 2021!
