Being a teacher of the Gospel is a noble and honorable task, however, preparation is essential in order to prevent biasness and presupposition. Since humans are used as teachers, humility also plays a role in self-examination to ensure that the proper message is given to God’s people. James 3:1 admonishes believers about self-deception and limits the number of teachers in his epistle because harsh judgment is given to those who are not diligent and humble enough for the position.
