If you don’t watch ultra running documentaries, then you might not have heard of Rafael Hildago, but I promise you if you watch any of his films on YouTube, you´ll feel inspired to set a goal so big that it scares you. He brings his camera along with him on races in the Alps, across the US, and evento South America, so you can see the emotional ups and downs of ultras. What really sets him apart is his way with words. His voiceovers are so poetic and philosophical, and inspirational and they give me goosebumps. He writes about ultras the way people describe an ayahuasca experience - like a meeting with the soul. So I highly recommend our listeners check out his YouTube channel, Rafael Hidalgo, specifically his journey on the UTM,B which is the pinnacle of the sport. It is over 100 miles and 10,000 meters of elevation gain in the Alps through France, Italy, and Switzerland over two sleepless nights.
