You have to be purposeful about sharing Jesus with others. Occasionally the conversations will happen naturally, but not if you’re not keeping your eyes and ears open. You have to step into those moments. In today’s message, Pastor Mike will challenge us to just focus on reaching out to one person. It’s as simple as inviting them to church. You don’t have to convince or pressure them, just let them know what it means to you and invite them to come to see what it’s all about.

Because of Jesus, you can live in a permanent state of the sabbath. That doesn’t mean you sit around doing anything all the time, just basking in God’s provision. You do need times like that, God designed us with a need for weekly rest, but it’s for our good as well as His glory, not because the law requires it. As Pastor Mike will explain in today’s message, Jesus took our punishment on the cross, so we can rest in Him. The wisdom of the world appeals to our hearts in their natural, sinful state. When we hear advice like, “follow your heart” or “be yourself” we connect with it because that’s what our hearts desire. But that philosophy of life ignores the fact that our hearts are born with sin built-in. We’re selfish and wicked by nature.
