  • #91: Waiting for a Miracle
I1.0.6 Patch Notes by Senior Designer Tim Williams.

Tim Williams: During the first Faction Rallies, we had a chance to learn a lot about how the activities motivated gameplay. We looked at the time invested compared to the rewards and made the following adjustments:

    Faction Rallies
Strikes now reward faction tokens at a range of 5 to 9 faction tokens per completion (up from 3 to 7)
Nightfall now rewards 10 to 18 faction tokens on first completion per character
Completing Heroic Public Events now rewards 5 faction tokens (down from 8)
Destroying enemy resources no longer rewards faction tokens
Opening Lost Sector Chests now rewards 3 faction tokens for each fireteam member

    5. Messages From The Reef

Daniel Escobar: Do you think the improvements coming later (announced on the TWAB) should have been there since D2 launch?

Michael Pelech: Destiny 1 survived a lot of new games coming out. Will Destiny 2 be able to withstand the new game launches?

Will Steffen Talk about the fact that we’re only 2 or so months into the game and our clan is pretty inactive already. I’m sure we all didn’t expect that to happen, Do you think that Bungie and Activision are going to remedy this in the near future?

  • #89: Where's the End Game?
On this show, David and Jordan take an in depth look on the new formats to Iron Banner in Destiny 2. Discussing what they feel works with the new systems and what they feel needs reworking, with possible ways to rework it. Then the crew takes a look at the upcoming PC release and how it will affect the Destiny community and potentially the Destiny 2 end game. Following along that trend, the team then discusses next weeks prestige mode release for the raid and how it expands on the end game, and end game problems being felt in the community.

Lastly the team then took a long dive into comments and questions from you, the listeners. Destiny 2 has been receiving a lot of flack in certain areas so the team discussed the comments and questions the listeners had on Destiny 2's current standing.

  • #86: Nightfalls & Leviathan Labrynths
    TWAB (Faction Wars)

Tim Williams: Each of the factions of the Tower is having a rally to collect resources for its cause. They’re recruiting Guardians to gather supplies for their faction and destroy enemy resources. They’ll offer a suite of rewards to help the Guardians rise up against any enemy threats. As an incentive, each faction has set aside a powerful weapon to entice players to choose their side. The faction whose Guardians collect the most faction packages will be declared the winner. The winning faction will offer the weapon to everyone, but all who pledged loyalty will receive it with a huge discount as repayment for their contributions to their faction’s cause.

Nightfall Controversy: Is the Nightfall worth it especially when the strike isn't fun? Also, why so buggy?

  • #85: The Displeasure Gardens
This week, In Orbit discusses the story in spoiler detail and goes into the lore that leads into "The Leviathan" raid, Destiny 2's first raid featuring the Cabal and a story that is given background by an adventure on patrol on Nessus, but not directly involving the main story of Destiny 2's campaign. In Orbit gives a review on the game, what we liked, did not like, and think needs to be improved upon.

In Orbit also goes into a brief synopsis of the raid. "The Leviathan" is a gigantic spectacle that amazes with it's look and many parts are a ton of fun to play, but once again, the game goes through so many moments of inconsistency. One infamous room, "Pleasure Gardens" is giving many people are hard wall to overcome due to the inconsistent nature of the Royal Beasts that patrol the region. Stay tuned for next week's episode where we give a review of the raid and a final review of the game.

We finish up with Messages from the Reef!

Kyle Kimlick - What are your thoughts on the clan experience as a whole in Destiny 2?

Jarret Redding - Do you think Bungie will release multiple raids per expansion?

RaspNogar - Based on the beta and Playstation play so far, do you think Destiny 2 will be able to succeed as an eSport on PC better than Destiny 1?

Eli Ansara - What was your favorite moment from the Destiny 2 story?

LuminousLamma - Power weapons: Is there a superior option for legendaries? All on same level?

JVaz - What is the most efficient way to level up?

GuavaDude - Weapon Mods: how do we feel is the best way to use them, why? When? Etc.

  • #84: Dawn Of A New Age
This week, In Orbit goes over our initial impressions on Destiny 2 now that It's here! We talk about the graphics, music, cinematics, story, content, controls, and gameplay. As a whole, the podcast enjoys the game, but we have a few issues in terms of story pacing, delivery, and overall difficulty.

We also discuss the leveling system that has proven to be a tad more complex than the system in Destiny 1 which has lead people to believe that they are losing out on power (the term that replaces light in this game) when they infuse their weapons and armor.

The community is also up in arms with regards to the shader system. Previously in Destiny 1, the shader system was you get a single shader, you apply it to your character, and your armor becomes that color. In Destiny 2, the shaders are now individual consumables that are not reusable, but you get them from all forms of activities. Each item, such as ghosts, armor, weapons, and ships, can be changed using these shaders.

Very Frequently Asked Question: “What is the exact time I can dive into Destiny 2?”

The answer is dependent on where you live. Destiny 2 will have a rolling midnight release across the globe. You will be able to play the game as soon as it is 12 AM, September 6, anywhere in your country or in some cases region. In the US, for example, that means the entire country is live when the clock strikes midnight Eastern.

    Live Trailer Reactions

    Messages From The Reef

Jason Buchan: Do you think they'll take away gun perks from armour like faster reload, more hip fire accuracy, faster ads, etc... and replace them with weapon mods quick draw mag, laser sight for better hip accuracy, grips for faster ads. And keep the armour perks relatively ability orientated?

Giving Quiet Signs: I have a question for all of you from the live action trailer. Is Cayde-6 a cat guy, or a chicken guy?

JustinYnolds: Is Dominus Ghaul the Shield Brother’s father? I am super excited about the improvements to ease of player progression, but my biggest concern now is that I'm going to blow through the PvE content, and since the grind for god-roll weapons is gone...as a Destiny grinder, am I going to be looking at trouble?

Lars Umlaut: Is Destiny 2 on PC an afterthought?

DEFCON 01: What is everyone’s launch day plan/routine? In regards to bungie saying engram’s power will be determined on drop, and that will be a MINIMUM power they will decrypt at, what are our thoughts on that?

ChikinFingaz: How authentic is wilhelm scream's ...wilhelm scream. What's the production value like?

Juan Diaz - At the end of the mission we all played in the Beta when Gary kicked our faces out...what do you think will happen after that moment? In my opinion we will decide if we wanna stay with our same face, race look, etc or we restart as new guardians and then we'll see all the new options Bungie made for us. And what would you say if the only way to gain your light back is trough the Raid...?

Jamie Broome - So you feel Bungie have revealed too much information and footage about Destiny 2?

David Schnoes - What is your opinion on the spoilers leaking, and coming out after the embargo?

DSB Overlord - Thoughts on the scope of character customization?

JDog_12345 - Will we ever see a Destiny porn parody?

JustinYnolds - Are we going to have the same factions? New Factions? More than 3 factions?

Defcon01 - With the hunter class ability being a dodge, what do you think they replaced that skill w/ on the Night Stalker subclass (assuming it IS indeed coming back)?
