It's not as simple as poverty breeds violence. Individuals from all ecominic circumstances experience violence. Poverty just exacerbates the occurence and severity of violence. It's difficult to escape poverty while being abused when leaving is the more expensive option. Combating either poverty or domestic violence means acknowledging the relationship between the two.
