Welcome back to the in Seezyn podcast, we are still in the throws on turkey season. As many of you know we have been running WiseEye cameras for a while now and that team is absolutely incredible. Well, one of the WiseEye team members Cole Legnon shot 5 turkeys over a period of 7 days. He went down to Texas and shot 4 Rios, 2 really unique birds in less than 10 seconds, throughout his hunt he used both a shotgun and archery equipment and then came back to Louisiana and dropped his first Eastern Turkey. Cole is 19 years old and is ate up with everything hunting. He went on the Texas trip with his dad buddy and Dan Dewitt. You may remember Dan from the episode we did early on in the podcast with Southern Woods And Waters. We had a good time talking turkey hunting with the boys from WiseEye, and we hope you enjoy episode 36: 4 Rios Down in Texas with our friends from WiseEye.

Welcome back to the In Seezyn Podcast, on episode 35 we decided to do some research on the most common turkey hunting myths and old wives tale surrounding turkeys and turkey hunting. We had a great time discussing these myths, providing some research and evidence regarding the myths that exist and found a cool article from Josh Honeycutt that was pushed in Outdoor life, he outlined how many of the common myths have been disproven and talked about quite a bit of strategy to have success in the woods this spring.

On Episode 33 of the In Seezyn Podcast we talk with Spook Spann. Spook was featured on the cover of North American Whitetail and Monster Bucks 16 for his 230 inch deer in Kansas. Spook was the center of an investigation related to hunting for almost a decade where he was drug through the mud over a personal vendetta, but after 9.5 years of prosecution and wasted government resources all charges were dropped, and the truth finally came out. Spook tells the details of the events that transpired, how it affected his career and his family. It was an absolute pleasure to meet Spook in person and to have him as a guest on the Podcast!

On episode 31 of the In Seezyn Podcast we talk with our friends from the Generations to Hunt Podcast out of Mid-Michigan. As we started talking in this episode we intended to talk about our first turkey experience, but it quickly turned into talking about all of the lessons we have learned by making mistakes in the woods. We get into our first times hunting, missing birds, mistakes we have made over the years, bow hunting turkeys, public land disasters including hunter harassment where neighbors were blowing up tannerite explosives and some good old fashion banter amongst friends. We hope you enjoy this kickoff episode to Turkey season.

On episode 30 of the In Seezyn Podcast we talk with Matt Ross, The Director of Conservation for the National Deer Association. Every year the NDA aggregates deer harvest data from each state and publishes that information. They gather data from state and provincial wildlife agencies, the nation’s leading deer researchers, and other sources to provide a true “State of the Deer” address for hunters, landowners, natural resource professionals, and the media in the annual Deer Reports. On this podcast we review the report and associated threats, concerns, successes and challenges that will shape wild deer’s immediate and long-term future – and that of deer hunting.
Matt hits the highlights of the state-by-state harvest data, including buck and doe harvest, the age structure of the harvest, deer harvest by weapon type, and much more. We also dive into a few of the many current issues facing deer hunting that are covered in the report.
