Being popular in the college music scene doesnt solve all your problems; at least thats what the hot musicians of indie band Luminescent Juliet discover. In this compelling novel, trouble begins when 18-year-old Riley, trying to regain her rhythm after throwing away her percussion scholarship to a top school, wins an audition to become the bands new drummer. This sets her on a collision course with Romeo, the bands sexy dark-haired guitarist, whose ambitions do not include performing with a girl. Luckily for Riley, all her problems seem to evaporate when shes behind the drums. Yet she cant ignore reality as the bands artistic power struggles increase - and the dynamic between her and Romeo edges from dislike into overwhelming attraction. If the two cant find a way to be together without breaking up the band and wreaking havoc on the lives of those around them, theyll lose not just their chance to make music, but their chance for a future together.

PG-13 college rock band story
This story was cute. However, if you are looking for steam and descriptive details as far as the bedroom goes You will be left wanting.
It actually was a pretty good story, not one I have heard before. Our leading lady Riley is 18, but going to be 19 in two months, and she gave up a prestigious percussion scholarship to stay at home because her parents 21 year marriage has ended and she's worried about her mom and 8 year old sister. Playing the drums is all she knows and all she wants to do. So when the opportunity comes up to try out for a local rock band she tries out and of course being good enough to get a prestigious scholarship she gets the gig. Two of the band members hit on her while the one that she's actually become fascinated with treats her like he doesn't want her to be there.
This story has a lot of up and downs, particularly relating to the mother pretty much falling apart and the 18-year-old daughter having to try to put her back together and be mom sister student drummer and everything else life throws at an 18-year-old. There are a few scenes of sexual tension between the main characters but nothing over PG-13. All in all it was a good story, it kept you wanting to know more and therefor turning the pages. I wouldn't call it light and fluffy, but by the end of the book it's more of a feel-good book then whew, glad they got through that book. If you are looking for something that's not too intense but will actually keep your attention go ahead and get this book but if you're looking for adult characters or adult situations this isn't really the book for you.
To good.
I don't leave comments very often but this one is totally a blast. Hope to read more.
Band Buddies
I loved this book. The main characters were the band members & they each had their own persona. I enjoyed reading something that taught some lessons that are basic to life.
Loved it!
Really enjoyed this book. Well written, good story. Story kept my interest with engaging characters, clear dialogue and just enough romance to keep you engaged. Personally would have liked a little more of the characters actually getting romantic, but this is not smutty in any way.
