She discusses some of her favourite moments from the series and her most surprising discoveries. Norville sheds some light on misconceptions about Black history in Canada.
Black Life is an eight-part docuseries on CBC that reframes the rich and complex history of Black experiences in Canada, dispelling commonly accepted myths and celebrating the many contributions of Black Canadians. The series spans more than 400 years with an eye toward contemporary issues, music, policing, Black liberation, immigration, culture, and sports.
