April 08, 2018 In the Days of Noor: How Black Women Should Approach Police Brutality
In this podcast we discuss Stephon Clark another black man recently killed by the police in yet another case of police brutality, but what is the place of black women in the fight against police brutality especially for a man who seemed to that black women?
"Black Women shouldn’t risk their lives for black men, period. Will there be a black man to support all these black women caping for black men online if they lose their jobs? Will there be a black man to bail us out of jail if we get arrested at one of these marches? Are black men protecting our bodies from state violence? No, no and no. Men are supposed to protect women not the other way around, somehow our community has it backward and black Women are on the front lines.
And that doesn’t even touch the fact that these marches, hashtags, and YouTube rants do absolutely *nothing* to stop police brutality.
Let’s spend time changing what is in our power to change -having better relationships, homeschooling (so our kids don’t have to unlearn racism), support black businesses, encouraging more of our own to enter into the police force and end police brutality first hand.
Black women need to self-protect and focus on being down for men who are down for us and building our communities in ways that don’t destroy us."

"The halal is clear and the haram is clear, and between them are matters unclear that are unknown to most people. Whoever is wary of these unclear matters has absolved his religion and honor. And whoever indulges in them has indulged in the haram. It is like a shepherd who herds his sheep too close to preserved sanctuary, and they will eventually graze in it. Every king has a sanctuary, and the sanctuary of Allah is what He has made haram. There lies within the body a piece of flesh. If it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted. Verily this piece is the heart." (Bukhari)
