In The Galaxy Podcast

Back again with another Creative Control with Ryan Snelling form FIlmbeef and Schmoeville. Jaye and Ryan discuss taking a trip to see Mark Ellis do stand up comedy, creating content while there, and getting advice from a successful comedian and YouTuber. Ryan and Jaye work through being on top of a mountain and having to come back down, how do we get back to those places? Do we even have control over it?

On this episode, Jaye is joined by Ryan Snelling from Filmbeef and Schmoeville Podcast to review the new Saosin album, "Along The Shadow". Why is Ryan on this episode you ask? Well, for one, Michael is on vacation, AND Saosin is one of Ryan's all time favorite bands. Though this is the case, there is a twist. Saosin is back with their original frontman, Anthony Green. Though his work in Circa Survive has surpassed his past life with post-hardcore powerhouse Saosin, fans have long awaited a full length album with this lineup.

Jaye and Michael try out something new on this episode and  jump across the pound to see what one of England's top hip hop artists has to offer. Skepta is a grime artist from London and has received praise from critics and industry big names like Drake. If that alone doesn't peak your interest, features from the likes of Pharrell Williams and other Grime star JME surely will.

Soundoff returns as Jaye tackles a common subject on this podcast, the music industry. This time however, the main topic is what's wrong with the music industry, how to fix it, and more importantly music streaming services and album exclusivity.

Michael pops his Radiohead cherry and reviews Radiohead's new album "A Moon Shaped Pool" with Jaye. Michael had never listened to a Radiohead album and Jaye was incredibly curious as to what his reaction would be to hearing one of music's most influential and celebrated alternative bands. This album comes after a 5 year drought form the band but has been a widely celebrated release. Will the Galaxy be so kind?

On this episode, Michael and Jaye break down Chicago native, Chance The Rapper's latest project "Coloring Book". The album is called a mixed tape, but let's be honest, it's an album. This project comes after a stellar feature on Kanye West's track "Ultralight Beams", where Chance delivered a standout appearance, this album is the follow up to that and something for many new fans to take notice of.

Creative Control are conversations with creative individuals about their struggles, successes, and failure. For those living a creative lifestyle and on a creative journey, you're not alone.

On this episode, Jaye talks with long time ITG family member, stand up comedian and host of the Predictably Drunk podcast, Sam Marcoux. Sam is based out of San Jose, California. Though not a traditional hot bed of comedy, Sam is constantly on the grind. He is one of the hardest working creative individuals I know. In addition to comedy, Sam is fluent in the business side of being creative, as well as a passionate podcaster.

On this episode we discuss balancing the business side of being creative and knowing when to have fun and when to work. Additionally, Sam talks in depth about not falling into the party mentality when there is work to be done, even when that lifestyle is part of the greater community you're in.

Lastly, we go deep on talking about podcast struggles. We discuss growth, change, planning as podcasters and ways to move forward in the future.
