It’s my birthday, and I’m turning 49 with laughter, perspective, and my lifelong BFF, Denise, by my side. In this special episode of IN THE KNOW WITH KO, we talk menopause, discovering an extra chin in a bad photo angle, and embracing the realness that comes with aging. We also get raw about loss—like the loss of losing both my parents—and the comfort that only decades-deep friendships can bring.
Denise and I reflect on the beauty of having someone who’s been through every life chapter with you—because no one wants to explain history. We talk about becoming an honorary “Casey sister,” the power of being unapologetically real, and why we’re proudly aging (no Botox… yet).
This is a celebration of perspective: letting go of caring what others think, choosing grace and laughter, and giving compassion freely—to others and to ourselves. From raising kids to fighting off the nap monster just to squeeze in a workout, we cover it all.
We’re not fighting the aging process—because spoiler: anti-aging products don’t work. Instead, how I'm embracing my new role as family matriarch, learning to say “no” without guilt, and accepting that not everyone will be happy for us. And that’s okay.
You’ll laugh, you might tear up, and you’ll definitely feel seen. This one’s for every woman trying to do her best while keeping it real.
