In a letter to Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown, a prominent civil rights organization called for the termination of a CPD officer who lied about ties to the Proud Boys. The Southern Poverty Law Center says allowing officer Robert Bakker to return from a 120-day suspension will erode “trust between the public and law enforcement authorities.”
