In this episode of IN THE MIND OF we speak with Tim Tyler PT, ATC, about how he became the clinician that he is today and how we can use outcomes and research in order to tackle difficult clinical cases.  Tim Tyler is a clinical research consultant at the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma at Lenox Hill Hospital. In 2001, he established PRO Sports Physical Therapy of Westchester, a private practice in Scarsdale, NY. Tim is also head athletic trainer at Scarsdale High School in Westchester. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, National Athletic Trainers’ Association and serves on the Editorial Board of The Journal of Sport Rehabilitation and The International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy. He has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals and numerous book chapters. Tim has been the president of the Sport Physical Therapy Section of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Therapists since 2010.

In this episode of IN THE MIND OF we speak with Dr. Armia Z. Abdo President and CEO of MetaDoc, an online platform that provides innovative digital solutions for muscle and joint pain which affects 1/3 of all the people in the world. 

Dr. Abdo is a southern California native and received his doctorate in physical therapy from Azusa Pacific University and his BS in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton. His training allowed him to become a clinic owner, and mentor eventually establishing spinal manipulation courses as part of a residency program at Coury and Buehler physical therapy in California. In this episode of IN THE MIND OF we have Martin Langaas, PT, OMT, FAAOMPT. Martin is Co-Founder and Director of the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (IOMT). He graduated in 1982 from the Physical Therapy College in Berlin, Germany, and after graduation, returned to Norway to attend the National Norwegian Fellowship Program. He trained extensively with Olaf Evjenth and Freddy Kaltenborn, the developers of the Kaltenborn/Evjenth Orthopaedic Manual Therapy System. Martin completed the Fellowship Program and obtained his OMT certification in 1989, moving shortly thereafter to the United States.
