Lisa Smedley-Calderon, Costume Designer and Fashion Stylist, has built an impressive reputation from styling, creating images for legendary celebrities, to creating characters for commercials, TV series and movies. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, it was her move to California that propelled a whirlwind of working with some of the greatest artists in the entertainment industry. Lisa became known for cultivating styles unique to each clients’ personality while adding a hint of her own quirks. Her acute attention to detail marks her signature touch.

While completing her studies in Fashion Merchandising, Lisa became a fashion consultant for Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills. While at Saks Fifth, she was referred to the Crystal Agency and began assistant styling and later styling independently as one of the most sought after fashion stylists and is presently working in movies and TV series. Lisa has styled for artists such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Bobby Brown, Boyz II Men, and Color Me Badd, as well as award shows such as the Grammy’s, American Music Awards, Billboard and MTV Awards. Lisa has evolved in her career as a costume designer on movies and TV series with A-List celebrities. 

Now with over 20 years of experience in the film and TV industry, Lisa continues to have the same drive and passion she did 20 years ago. When not on a project, Lisa likes to read, travel, and spend time with family.

In addition to a long, successful career as a C-suite level business executive and management consultant, Richard is also a retired U. S. Navy (Aviation) officer, an aviator, a business writer, a former competitive surfer, a national champion formula 2000 race car driver and a stunt driver/instructor. He left a corporate career to pursue his life-long interest in film where he has become a successful SAG-AFTRA actor, voice over artist, award winning producer and writer. He has performed in both lead and supporting roles in many motion pictures, television shows and commercials. He is currently filming the new Jordan Peele film, “Him’ in New Mexico. He is married to Cindy Lippert, who is also a working SAG-AFTRA actor. They have 2 children and 5 granddaughters and reside in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This week we have...BARNEY BURMAN 

Academy Award winner, Barney Burman was hooked on movies from an early age. A lifelong cineaste and third-generation monster maker, Barney was quite literally raised in and around the world of movies, acting and special make-up effects. When he was just 9-years-old, his father turned him into a giant rat for The Food of the Gods. At 11 he was covered in slime to be a pod-person for Invasion of the Body Snatchers and then posed for the child-like aliens for Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind.
At the age of 14, he took his first acting class and, at the same time, started officially working in his father’s make-up fx studio. As a young adult, Barney split his time designing and creating monsters and dead people as well as continuing to pursue an acting career. He accepted bit parts in films he was doing make-up for, such as From a Whisper to a Scream, Circuitry Man and Adam Simon’s Brain Dead, to name a few.
In the early 1990’s, Barney studied with the great acting teacher, Sanford Meisner, while producing and acting in small theater around LA. He received rave reviews for his portrayal of Berringer in Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinoceros.
Barney also continued to hone his skills as a make-up artist, working on shows like Body Snatchers, Powder, The X-Files, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Planet of the Apes, Pearl Harbor, Men in Black 2, The Ring, Master and Commander: Far Side of the World, and many more.
He eventually opened his own make-up fx studio in 2004 and was soon called upon to create masks and monsters for such films as Mission: Impossible III, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny, Blades of Glory and Camille, starring James Franco and Sienna Miller. In 2008, he was hired to turn Tom Cruise into his iconic abusive executive, Les Grossman, for the blockbuster Tropic Thunder.
His dedication to the art proved rewarding when, in 2010, Barney was honored with an Academy Award for his work in JJ Abrams's reboot of Star Trek.
More recently Barney enjoyed turning Sacha Baron Cohen into 6 different characters for his latest and most scandalous project Who is America and into a president for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.
It may come as no surprise that Barney has also taken on the role of filmmaker, himself. His feature film directorial debut, Barney Burman’s Wild Boar, has racked up an impressive collection of awards – including Best Horror Film, Best Director, and Best of Festival – in festivals throughout the US and Canada. It is currently available on Amazon Prime, Tubi and YouTube Movies.
