BALTIC, S.D. — Two Elkton-Lake Benton powerlifters competed in a meet on Saturday, Jan. 18, at Baltic High School. Elk senior  Logan Miller and junior Taiton Boersma both earned first place in their respective weight classes. In powerlifting, athletes score points based on their performances in three basic events: squat, bench press and dead lift. Boersma, in the 220-pound class, totaled 1,205 pounds from three lifts — including a 500-pound dead lift. He also recorded a squat of 445 pounds.
