It's the week of Library Fair and Barry and LaToya are super busy. However, LaToya is unaware (as usual) that when Barry says something, he means it. In haste, she prepares for a full episode but has to save her segments and thoughts for the next show. What she also learns (decides) immediately before is to be the mini-episode Chump. With the chance to humiliate his co-host Barry not only has sports trivia but FSU & USC rivalry mixed in.
LaToya's sick. Again. Or has she actually gotten better since the last time? She drags herself into work to do the show and Barry teases her for being unprepared. She also brings with her today's guest and Stump the Chump victim, Trinidadian boyfriend, Kenrick Perez. With the Batman-themed game, Kell serenades them with the 60s classic show theme. Does he knock this performance out of the park? Bam! Pow! Thwack! Does Kenrick join Kell as the biggest loser? Na na na na Na na na na BATMAN!
Season Premiere. The Stacks welcome guest and famous pulp fiction author, Derrick Ferguson. As the season's first Chump he adds his own vocal stylings to the game. Barry changes up the format to the show and LaToya is the last to know. However, LaToya is pleasantly surprised (and relieved) that she's again co-host for another season. Paris Hilton is again a topic of discussion but who can top Kell's heart-warming rendition of the GI Joe theme?
In the midst of a conversation in the office, Barry feels compelled, initially unbeknown to LaToya, to record the first of many anticipated impromptu mini-episodes. Anne Moore, Youth Services Coordinator happens upon the conversation when coming to the office on business matters. In this mini-episode Barry, LaToya, and Anne debate which LaToya finds cleaner, Kell Carpenter's kitchen or the kitchen at the local Golden Pantry.
Season Finale. LaToya's been out sick, one of a few things delaying the recording and broadcast of the season's final episode. This is the first episode debuting the theme music at the open and close of the show. Kell is given the opportunity to redeem himself as the only losing Chump of the season. Barry and LaToya discuss the economic distress on library funding. LaToya's watching Doctor Who and Barry loves the Sweds.
Barry had high hopes for this episode. That is until LaToya squashed them. He goes from a good mood to almost catatonic. Joel Taylor, author of Joel's Weblog of Wonders is the on-the-phone guest and takes part in Pixar Stump the Chump trivia. He's on the line from the beautiful port city of Savannah and in true geek form, is planning on attending a WordPress conference. Later in the show Pumpkin City drummer, Anthony Davidson discusses the debut of the In the Stacks theme song with lyrics derived from LaToya's poem, In the Stacks.
Allie Fox, the show's #1 fan makes an appearance on the show and graciously plays Indiana Jones Stump the Chump trivia. Is he or isn't he a big Indiana Jones fan? The Stump the Chump singer gets a new name? Barry discusses his dislike of Twitter feeds on Facebook. LaToya is billed as the sidekick. Will Pumpkin City deliver a theme song before the next season? And what is now the longest show to date includes an in-depth political conversation that begins with civil rights and ends with stereotypes.
Papa Bear (aka Barry Reese) is in a grumpy mood and tries to drag LaToya into it. It's hard to ignore his general blue mood. However, as the show progresses his mood improves. Kell is under the weather as he sings for the Doctor Who themed Stump the Chump which features Eleanor Hopson as the Chump. Barry and LaToya also discuss potential upcoming Chumps including the show's number one fan, Allie Fox.
Barry starts the show alone and makes sure LaToya doesn't live down last week's show not being uploaded on time. With the library's emergency closes and the Georgia heat, the delay is blamed on all of the above. This week's country music Stump the Chump is a first featuring two contestants and Barry and LaToya chat about this season's Big Brother.
The library is hot and in middle Georgia, that's saying a lot. With the outdoor temperature over 90 degrees the library's HVAC causes Barry and LaToya name the episode after the famous Nelly song. In addition, they talk about some interesting 'hot' topics. Pumpkin City band member Anthony Davidson plays Mel Gibson Stump the Chump trivia.
