We will continue our series with Dr. George Guthrie in the book of Second Corinthians. In this second installment we’ll look at the way God uses the suffering we face to prepare us for building His Kingdom. And then in the second half we’ll hear a concert of prayer that first released to celebrate the National Day of Prayer. The Men of the Empty Hands Fellowship will gather at the Mole End Studio for a powerful time seeking God for the needs of the Church, the nation and the world.

We start the hour with guest Ken Boa who is the author of “Life In the Presence of God”. This conversation spans our main themes of commentary, creativity and community. Michael and Ken discuss their shared interest in astronomy, art and living out the message of the word of God. In the second half we’ll continue Michael’s study from the book of Job presented at a Lament Conference. In this teaching installment the focus is on faithfulness in difficult circumstances and God’s provision of a redeemer.

This week “Classic” In the Studio With Michael Card, we’re going to begin a the first part of a study in the book of Second Corinthians with our friend Dr. George Guthrie. In this first installment we’ll look at the backgrounds and major themes found in this pivotal New Testament book. And then in the second half we’ll combine our creativity and community segments together. Our special guest is singer/songwriter Wes King. With guitar in hand Wes will tell about God’s faithfulness in his battle with cancer. Along with these great guests we’ll hear Michael answer some listener questions and he’ll perform a song request sent in to us..

We’ll start off the hour with the first part of a series of teaching from Michael on the book of Job. In the creativity segment our social media team member, Lauren Koske talks about the redemptive use of new digital forms of communication. This week’s community focus is on preparing for the upcoming National Day of Prayer. We’ll welcome Pastor and Day of Prayer Producer Dr. Bob Bakke to speak about this year’s theme, “Love One Another”. His insights on the power of prayer in the face of the culture’s darkness will encourage us to seek God.

On this Classic edition of In the Studio With Michael Card, we’ll remember our Lord’s victory over the grave with teaching from the word and powerful music. We’ll begin with a message highlight recorded in Havana Cuba. Michael was teaching on the “Un-Miraculous Miracles of Jesus” and translated by a dear friend Pastor Gonzales. In this segment we’ll be taken to the lessons from the raising of Lazarus and the meaning of the death of Jesus on the cross. This is an unforgettable moment when the truth of Christ’s death and resurrection come in to sharp focus. Then in the second half we’ll take a musical journey through the events of Jesus last hours on Earth and how we should respond to his sacrifice for us. Scott Brasher will join Michael in what we are calling an “in studio concert set”.

On this week’s session In the Studio with Michael Card our focus is on the events of Holy Week. We’ll start of the hour with an in-depth study of character and conduct of Judas. Pastor Colin Smith has explored the details of the betrayal of Jesus in his book, “Heaven So Near, So Far”. Together with Michael they’ll explore the mindset that can pull us away from the savior. Then in the second half, Michael will guide us with music and scripture through some of the significant moments leading up to the cross. It is our prayer this hour will help guide your thinking and prepare your heart to remember our Lord’s death on Good Friday.

In this week's classic edition, we're going to continue our explore the background of slavery in the New Testament. Michael will what he's discovered about this topic as we look to the book of Ephesians and many other passages in our commentary segment. Then we'll continue our discussion of the creative process with Lee Benson. Lee is a professor at Union University and is a sculptor. You'll want to hear his insights on Christians in the Arts. Then in the second half we catch up with Sara Groves. Sara is will talk about the problem of modern slavery. Part of her ministry focus is on raising awareness to the horror of human trafficking and the sex trade. We'll have teaching, music and conversation that will expand our vision as followers of Christ.

This week's session will take us around the globe and take us back in time. We'll make a connection in South East Asia for our first guest, Professor David Miller. David is a scholar and guide during Michael's annual Israel tour. With the backdrop of the Holy Land, David will bring the gospels to life as we hear his insights on Jesus as the Good Shepherd and much more. In our creativity segment we'll meet author and historian Kevin Belmonte. Kevin is known for writing the biography of significant Christians of past generations like D.L. Moody, William Wilberforce and many others. He'll share his perspective on the art of writing biography and why he is drawn to learn from the lives of those who have gone before us.

This week In the Studio we’ll feature a “Classic” edition from the Mole End studio. Our commentary on the word of God will focus on a challenging study Michael did on the topic of slavery in the New Testament. Then we’ll place a call to Dr. Lyle Dorsett to talk about the contribution of John Wesley in the history of the abolition of the slave trade in England. We’ll hear Michael interact with some listener emails. And then Steve Green stops by the studio for a powerful conversation about facing struggles in life. We

Michael continues to highlight the way the word hessed is seen in the New Testament through the writings of John and Paul. Then we’ll meet Ron Davis who has been on the road with Michael for 30 years. He’ll share his insights in what we call “The art of the tour”. In our community segment we’ll meet Mary Frances Bowley the founder of Wellspring Living. She’ll tell the story of how God’s kindness is behind the restoration of young girls coming out the dark world of human trafficking.
