Cincinnati Bengals center Ted Karras joins us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham to discuss the Bengals disappointing loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and how the next six games will define the Bengals's 2024 season.
It was another amazing game where the Bengals fell just short on Sunday night falling to the Chargers 34-27. Joe Burrow and the offense played amazing once again coming back from 21 points in the second half, the defense also played well in the second half but put the team into too big of a hole in the first half giving up 24 points in the first half.
Ted and Dave discuss how these next six games, especially the Steelers game after their bye will define their 2024 season. If they beat the Steelers the playoffs are still alive but will need help from other teams in the AFC. With a loss to the Steelers, the Bengals season will be over.

It was a long plane ride back to Cincinnati following the Bengals 34-27 Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Dave Lapham reacts to the Bengals' latest loss despite Joe Burrow having another big game. Burrow threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns, and receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins combined for 16 catches for 223 yards and three touchdowns, wasting another chance to work towards making the playoffs.
Burrow, who is leading the NFL with 3,028 passing yards and 27 touchdowns with only four interceptions, is having a magical type of season quarterbacks usually have on teams pushing for championships, not on the outside looking in at the playoffs.
Despite being 4-7 heading into their bye, the Bengals are still in the hunt for a playoff berth if they can return and put together a winning streak in their final six games that will start against AFC North rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are finding ways to win games and stand with an 8-2 mark so far.

Cincinnati Bengals OC Dan Pitcher joins us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham to discuss the Bengals offense vs the Chargers defense in their week 11 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
After another disappointing loss on Thursday night, the Bengals will look to bounce back on Sunday night as the Bengals take on Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers.
It's a game the Bengals need to win to keep their playoff chances alive. Hopefully, the Bengals will be at full strength with the return of Tee Higgins and Orlando Brown Jr but they both will be questionable for the game.

Former Cincinnati Bengal Solomon Wilcots joins us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham to discuss the Bengals' 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders and how the Bengals can beat the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.
The Bengals played their best game of the season this past Sunday defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 41-24, but Joe Burrow was not satisfied.
This week against the Baltimore Ravens is the biggest game of the 2024 season. A win on Thursday night and a favorable end to their schedule puts the Bengals in a great spot to make a run for the playoffs.

Excuse the rough voice, but we'll fight through it like the Cincinnati Bengals have this season. Sunday, the Bengals earned their first win at Paycor Stadium and fourth win of the season to set up a significant match-up against AFC North rival, the Baltimore Ravens.
Get my reaction to the 41-21 win over the Las Vegas Raiders with the stellar play of Joe Burrow, Chase Brown, and Trey Hendrickson, along with the job the offensive game plan to slow down Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby before we tackle the short week the Bengals face with a primetime Thursday Night Football match-up between Burrow and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Get great insight into the latest honor bestowed upon one of the best broadcasters in the business, Dan Hoard, who was announced as the most recent recipient of the Marty Glickman Award by the Syracuse University Newhouse Sports Media Center, and how his most recent Bearcats road trip was also a time to catch up with his son at the University of Colorado for the Bearcats battle with the Buffalos.
The two longtime Bengals broadcasters also discuss the Bengals' struggles this season and UC Bearcats football and basketball.

NFL broadcaster Charles Davis joins us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham to discuss the Bengals' 37-17 loss to the Philadephia Eagles and how he's never counting out Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
It was another home loss for the Bengals as they fell to 3-5 in the 2024 season. The game was tied late in the 3rd quarter but after three big plays for the Eagles, the game seemed to slip away for the Bengals.
There were many reasons the Bengals lost on Sunday but a big one was having their #2 wide receiver out with injury. Tee Higgins was ruled out before the game after he injured his quad on Friday and now the Bengals are 0-3 without Higgins in the 2024 season.
The Bengals have the Las Vegas Raiders coming to Paycor Stadium in Week 9 in what now is another must-win midway through the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles won their first game in Cincinnati Sunday afternoon in Paycor Stadium and bullied the Cincinnati Bengals during their 37-17 win over the 3-5 Bengals.
After an incredible opening drive by Joe Burrow (26 of 37 for 234 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) that resulted in a Ja'Marr Chase two-yard touchdown reception and used up most of the clock in the first quarter, the Bengals defense held the Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense to a Jake Elliott 39 yard field goal to be up 7-3 in the second quarter. However, Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and DeVonta Smith were getting warmed up.
Hurts led the Eagles on another drive that ended with a one-yard touchdown run to head into the locker room at the half-tied 10-10.
It didn't take long for the Eagles to add another score with another Hurts touchdown run and a 17-10 advantage. The Bengals would answer with another drive as running back Chase Brown hit the end zone with a four-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 17 with a little over four minutes left in the third quarter.
But the Bengals were done for the day as the Eagles bullied them on both sides of the ball. They would get a 45-yard touchdown strike from Hurts to Smith and another 1-yard run for a score from Hurts, with two Elliott field goals to win. This would silence the second-largest crowd in Paycor history as the Bengals struggled to add wins on the field.
Dave Lapham was on the call for the game and reacted to the Bengals' fifth loss of the season from the First Star Logistics Studios.

Cincinnati Bengals assistant head coach and special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons returns to In The Trenches with Dave Lapham, presented by First Star Logistics, to discuss the latest play of the Bengals special teams after the team's 21-14 win over the Cleveland Browns.
As the team's longest-tenured coach, Simmons has seen a lot during his coaching career. Sunday, he witnessed second-year receiver Charlie Jones take the game-opening kickoff for a 100-yard touchdown, making him the second player in franchise history to record a kickoff and punt return for a touchdown.
Simmons also talks about the performances of rookie punter Ryan Rehkow, who is also the holder, long snapper Cal Adomitis, and kicker Evan McPherson in this exclusive one-on-one interview.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo joins us today on In the Trenches with Dave Lapham to discuss the Bengal's back-to-back wins and how impressive Lou's defense has played.
The last time Lou joined the show it was after two disappointing performances against the Commanders and the Ravens but now after two great performances from his defense Lou is in better spirits.
The Bengals will have another huge challenge in Week 8 vs the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have a great offense with multiple weapons including Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, and DeVonta Smith along with their dual-threat QB Jalen Hurts.
