the other side of a broken heart
once
upon a time
the man I am
who was back then
played a certain song
he took her hand
and in the darkness
accentuated by
a single candle and its light
he held her tight
the living room
was large enough
to slow dance in
and so they did
he looked into her eyes
and sang these words
as best he could:
“Oh but you're lovely,
with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft
There is nothing for me but to love you,
Just the way you look tonight” *
