When we are given a task or an assignment, or even when we are facing adversity in life, we can try to be ready and willing to accept that or to fight through the adversity. But to have success, to prosper, we need to be ready in the spirit, like Joshua was when he took over for Moses; ready with faith and trust in God to deliver on His promises to us.
Often times in life it is very easy to lose focus, to get off track, and even neglect those things that should be top priorities in our lives. Then we wonder what happened. Through the prophet Haggai, God provides a simple solution... Consider your ways. Consider your ways and keep Him first, make God your top priority, and He will take care of the rest.
What happened after the resurrection? What did Jesus do? What did he say to the disciples? What are we charged to do? Every day, not just on special holidays... what does Jesus tell us to do? In this episode we look at scripture in Matthew and John to get the answers.
In this episode we look at God's calling of Moses to help answer the questions of how we know when we are being called, is it ok to question that calling, and what, ultimately, allows us to carry out the calling that God has for us.
Suffering through a tragedy, whether it's the loss of a loved one, loss of property, or whatever it may be, is hard. The pain can seem unbearable. God gives us a promise, not that those times won't come or won't be hard, but that hope lies in the end of the story (the final resurrection). **Credit is given in this episode to Chad Scruggs, senior pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN, for inspiring this episode and for some of its content.
The Bible tells us that God disciplines those he loves. Do we stop to think that when we are on the receiving end of His discipline that He actually loves us, therefore He is teaching us through discipline? Our teacher, Jesus, endured punishment during His time on earth and He gives us examples and lays out a path for us to endure the tests and trials we face while running the race of faith. The question is, will we follow, so that we can reach the finish line which is eternity with Him.
Are you like me and find yourself asking God, Why? Or When? Often times it seems what we want doesn't happen the way we think it should, or when it should. That's because God has a plan for each of us. His plan, His will, will be done. It will be done on His timing. So when we think our "plans" get messed up for this reason or that reason, it's because our plans are not in line with His. How do we get there? By putting our faith and trust in Him, by trusting His plan.
What does it mean to fear God? How are we supposed to fear God? The bible tells us to fear God alone, to fear nothing else. In this episode, we break down how to go about that and how that should impact our lives as Christians.
