Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo of America, announced he will be retiring in April. Capcom announced a handful of Resident Evil titles will be making their way to Nintendo Switch in May. Nintendo announced there will be a Pokémon Direct happening February 27th. Is this going to be our first look at Gen 8 on Nintendo Switch?

Nintendo finally announced they will be holding their first Nintendo Direct of the new year! They will be discussing upcoming Nintendo Switch games, including Fire Emblem: Three Houses. What else will we see announced? Activision Blizzard also began massive layoffs ahead of their quarterly earnings, with plans to release more than 800 employees.

Anthem is just over a week away now, and we've gotten hands on with the VIP Demo and the Open Demo weekend. We're giving our initial impressions of the game, as well as discussing the roadmap laid out by the developers as to what is to come in the end game and in the coming months. We also chat about our impressions of Apex Legends after playing the game for the past week and getting a feel for the different Legends. Another Battle Royale enters onto the scene, this time from Titanfall developers Respawn Entertainment. The game is called Apex Horizon and it's essentially a Hero Shooter/Battle Royale hybrid. Resident Evil 2 has already shipped over 3 million units worldwide, making it the fastest-selling game in the franchise so far. Read my article on MammothGamers.com for more! Super Smash Bros. Ultimate received its first new fighter in Piranha Plant, available for free to early adopters to the game who registered and redeemed their code for the fighter. Humble Bundle just added another PlayStation bundle, this time featuring some Indie games! Lastly, Sony revealed the free games coming to PlayStation Plus subscribers in February, and it looks like a solid lineup!
