Revelation 8 calls us to pause in silence with all those gathered in heaven as we wait to see what is inside the scroll. This silence is contrasted with the loud trumpets that remind us of God's judgement in the past of Egypt and Babylon. The prayers of the saints, calling out for rescue, have ascended to the heavenly throne, and God is once again ready to rescue his people from anything that holds them captive and keeps them away from Him.
