Joshua 1v8 - "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

The transition between hearing the Word and prospering in it is Meditation

Matthew 6v25 - "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?"

- Don't elevate the basic needs of life and the value of riches above the word of God

Psalm 119v130 - "The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple."

Understanding comes by meditation

Luke 8v11 - "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God"

Just as a seed is intended to grow and bear fruit, the Word of God we encounter is intended to produce an outcome in our lives.

John 15v4 "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me"

In order to bear fruit in Christ we must abide in Him. Also, the key to bearing more fruit is pruning

John 15v2 - "Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit."

Fruitfulness is both a blessing from God and a mandate we must fulfill. God expects fruits

1 Corinthians 10v23 - "All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up."

Until we are built up, we can't do the things we are expected to do as disciples of Christ

1 Corinthians 6v12 - "“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything."

A good question to ask, in our walk with God, about the things we do (apart from whether they are sins or not) is whether they are helpful or they dominate us.

Acts 10v38 - "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."

Pray gives us access to divine help

Luke 6v12 - "Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God."
