Christine and Stephanie recount the madness of chaotic elections, the death of another Black man in Atlanta, our explorations into solar energy solutions, and, as always, what's going on in our gardens - including hummingbirds and foxes.
Stephanie and Christine talk about activism and how to have the stamina for sprints and marathons. They also talk about their next environmental challenge looking at solar power from all angles including DIY.
Christine and Stephanie hit the pause button the regular environmental challenge agenda to reflect on the racial turmoil across the country and how we, as white women can show up for people of color in a way that is de-centered, and meaningful. How and when do you stay in conversation with other white people in order to continue the work of dismantling systemic racism? How do you make the practice of dismantling systemic racism similar to the practice of brushing your teeth?
PODCASTERS FOR JUSTICE CAMPAIGN
We are united to condemn the tragic murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor and many many others at the hands of police. This is a continuation of the systemic racism pervasive in our country since its inception and we are committed to standing against racism in all its forms.

In this episode, Christine and Stephanie take a step back to explore the need for rest and relaxation as we begin to open up the country again. How do we go on vacation while still respecting the environment and each other? How do we act in harmony with the communities/State Parks/National Parks we visit? Christine recommends some ways to follow legislation and stay engaged on issues we care about. Stephanie offers up a practice for cultivating patience.
This week Christine and Stephanie recount their Mother’s Day, while also calling the name of Maud Arbery and remembering (sort of) Julie Ward Howe and her vision of “Mothers’ Day”. They look at the national discourse around social distancing and returning to work. They talk about the systems in place that make the virus more dangerous for some communities than others and how to use activism and privilege to effect change. This week’s challenge is composting and looking ahead the plan is to come back next week with DIY solutions that are accessible to everyone.
Stephanie and Christine reintroduce themselves, talk about spring in GA, incremental steps to make a difference, self-care and scheduling.
In this episode, we take a look at the nature of trauma why we can’t remember what day it is. We pause to notice the changes – both good and bad – that quarantine life brought us. What incremental steps have we taken to manage in this environment and what to do we want to take with us when this is over?
Today we checked in and had a conversation about how it was going in the world of social distancing in regards to the environment, jobs, routines, bidets and poetry not porn. We talked about self-care & challenges until the next time we chat. Join us for some tea & conversation.
