With the UK General Elections taking place in the next few months, never before has the vigour for real change been greater. Whilst many have chosen to stand as candidates, driven by the apathy towards the main parties, the challenges ahead of them seem considerable.
Gaza has amplified the effects of an overall failure of traditional politics, and hence driven many to consider avenues of real transformative change in the way politics is run. The absence of morality as a lack of clear political direction, resulting in tremendous problems affecting millions and millions of ordinary citizens every single day, is driving many to back independents rather than main political parties.
Anas Altikriti discusses with Sameh Habeeb and Emma Dent Coad the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead of their respective campaigns, as well as the prospects for politics in the UK and across the West in light of the public response to Gaza.
