The Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, has initiated steps to simplify, amalgamate, and rationalize numerous central labour laws, into the following four labour codes - Code on Wages, Code on Social Security, Code on Industrial Relations, and Code on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions. All the four labour codes have now received the assent of the President and the draft rules have also been issued. The Codes are now awaiting the notification of the effective date.
