Some Patches Required

Indie Insights From Basileus Games, Building a Visual Novel, and a Hint at What’s To Come

Listen Later

We usually start these descriptions with an overlong, unnecessary description of our topics based on a tangentially related idea. Today, we break the mold.

On this, the 20th episode of Some Patches Required (who would have guessed it would last this long?), we invited long-time friend and all-around swell gent Doug Trein to talk about his experience co-founding the indie studio Basileus and working on the virtual novel Romance of Raskya. We also asked him to reflect on his six-year stint writing about games for the site now known as Fandom, but we spent so much time digging into Raskya that we needed to split the discussion into two discrete parts.

So, if you're interested in hearing a gentleman with a profoundly bassy timbre talk with Zak and Aaron about making a story-focused romantic visual novel, this is the episode for you.

But do be sure to keep an eye out for the second half of the discussion, which will debut in the near future.
