VRChat has proven to be a wide world and major platform for up and coming indie creators! VRchat provides so many options for creating custom models, games, and 3D worlds, so it's no wonder it has become a breeding ground for new developers and artists. Today, we speak to Apollo Argyle, the developer behind the up and coming VRChat game Tron Frontiers, discussing where their inspiration comes from, how VRChat has helped them feel welcomed, and of course nerd out about things like Tron, Transformers, Avatar The Last Airbender, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and lots more. One of the greatest boons of going indie is getting out of the range of giant megacorporations - and what megacorporation is possible more famous (or more infamous, depending on your perspective) than the House of Mouse themselves, Disney! Today we speak with Walaber, former Disney Interactive employee who worked at the studio from 2005-2016, and was the lead designer for the story mode for Toy Story 3: The Video Game, as well as being involved in other projects like Epic Mickey and Where's My Water. We speak about his experience working at Disney and briefly Universal, what drove him to go indie after leaving Universal, how he is porting one of his games, Parking Garage Race Rally, to the Sega Saturn, the unfortunate events of Sega and Level-5 using AI in their upcoming games, and more. Also touched upon are the Sega Dreamcast, VeggieTales predicting AI, the game Ghost Trick, the Mario Galaxy movie, the current state of the MCU, and other things. Hope you enjoy a very informative episode!

The indie game scene is bigger than ever in the modern era, but it can be difficult to market your indie project at times! There are many avenues to market indie games these days, be it showcasing a demo at conventions like PAX or MAGfest, or other avenues such as social media or making the right kind of connections, and it can be very overwhelming to do so. Today, we talk about those struggles while speaking with Curdle, the developer of 4x4 in A Furniture Store, an upcoming chaotic truck simulator where you attempt to navigate an IKEA-sized furniture store in a 4x4 truck! Hope you enjoy today's insightful conversation!

In the indie scene, there's a lot of people working in this space who are neurodivergent, just because the draw of being able to work on your own creative passions and put that out there in the world, dedicating your time and energy to it is a very neurodivergent thing. As both being neurodivergent otters, we speak to another neurodivergent otter, that being OtterMakeGames about their approach to streaming and game development, and how they balance being on the spectrum and keeping their creative output and development pipeline intact, while never losing the passion that drew them to it to begin with. Hope you enjoy an in depth conversation!

AI has been a very recent scourge on the indie scene, and really just the creative scene in general. What can be done to keep AI from impeding on your creativity and your work, and was there always a series of signs warning us about this future we're living in currently? Today we talk with Tyler of Seismic Squirrel, the studio behind Aether and Iron, a dieselpunk visual novel RPG that Noah demo'd at PAX East. We discuss the impact of AI on gaming, how 80s sci fi was strangely prescient at predicting all of this, and even how things like Wall E or VeggieTales nailed it as well. Prepare for the most oddly in depth episode yet!

With many indie creators currently getting major forays into the film industry recently, such as the films Obsession and The Backrooms being created by people who got their start as YouTubers and becoming two of the biggest movies of 2026, and also the movie Buddy taking off, it seems fitting to discuss the current state of indie filmmaking and how the line between indie and mainstream is slowly becoming less difficult to breach. Today, we discuss the current state of indie filmmaking with Neox, an indie filmmaker and the head of DarkFox Studios! We discuss all sorts of things, from the furry fandom, Pixar, Sonic fan films, Disney Parks, Avatar The Last Airbender and beyond!

Welcome to the premiere of Indie-opolis, a podcast hosted by two otters interviewing various passionate indie creators about the projects they are working on and the things they love! For the first episode, the hosts interview Arkington, an autistic game developer who reached out personally due to one of the host's coverage of autism related media. Arkington has made a game starring an autistic main character, and that game is Wizard Magic! Together they discuss the state of indie game development, what true passion achieves in the workspace, and navigating creative spaces as an autistic person.
