Aarey is India’s only urban forest located in the middle of the country’s financial capital, which has managed to survive the urban development around it. Spread across hundreds of acres, the forest is home to a rich biodiversity. A few years ago, it faced the looming threat of the Metro car shed, that the then government adamantly refused to shift anywhere else. The threat looms over the forest again.
