Jacques Derosena is an Actor/Producer/Writer & Musician working in theatre, films, television & commercials.

On camera, Jacques Co-Starred in the HBO Drama Series "The Wire." Jacques has also written, produced and starred in several independent films, short films, music videos and TV pilots that were nominated & won awards in several film festivals. He associate produced "Murder101," starring Tom Sizemore, and the dark Drama, "Meth Head," starring Lukas Haas; both screened at Cannes Film Festival Market Screenings. They are now available on  DVD,Video On Demand at Amazon.com, Itunes.

Recently, he acted in "The Hunger Games Mockingjay: Part 1 District Voices Series," a 5-episode series. He also acted in a PBS Documentary/Reenactment Film "Out Of Obscurity" and "The Devil's Toy Redux" by The National Film Board of Canada.

 

President & CEO Gregory von Hausch will share everything that is happening at this year's Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (Nov. 7-23). In its 29th year, the fest will include, as always, films from around the world, special events and plenty of celebrities. Included in those being honored is Jason Alexander, who opens the fest with Pamela Shaw with musical comedy "Lucky Stiff," also Daniel Baldwin, George Hamilton, filmmaker/ actress Clara Mamet and British Filmmaker Mike Downer.

Daniel Hoyos is an indie film producer and new director of the popular Seattle Shorts Film Festival now in it’s 4th year. After graduating with a degree in film and communications in 2009, Daniel got his first job working for the nationally syndicated TV Show “Biz Kids” on PBS, as a production assistant. The following year, he got hired at the international film festival “National Film Festival for Talented Youth” as the submissions and programming intern. Since then, he worked at the “Children’s Film Festival of Seattle” where he helped program the week long 2011 festival, at the Northwest Film Forum.  

In 2012, his short film “Play for Me” won best cinematography at the 2012 Sierra Canyon Film Festival in Hollywood. That same year, Daniel produced  “No One Knows." The two lead child actors -- Sami Isler and Caleb Barwick -- went on to star in NBC's "Sean Saves the World," and Lifetime's "Army Wives." The film was accepted into 18 film festivals and will premiere on the Shorts HD Network, part of Direct TV, later this year. Daniel is also the film editor at the national magazine "I Am Entertainment."

In December 2013, Daniel became the festival director of the Seattle Shorts Film Festival after taking over from the founder of who retired in 2012. 

The Seattle Shorts Film Festival begins November 15th at SIFF Film Center. This year, 28 filmmakers are expected to attend  from across the country, along with special guest speaker sag-actress Venus Demilo Thomas from Nickelodeon's "Salute Your Shorts."

Some of the films Daniel will be discussing are "A Fish Tale," "Lunch," "The First Hope," "Water, Ice, Snow" and "The Father."

Director Gil Green is creating Who Is Lou Gehrig? a short film featuring Miami Heat power forward Udonis Haslem. The film is inspired by Green’s friend of over 20 years, Jeff Fogel, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease) about three years ago. The film will follow Fogel as he escapes into his imagination to create a more positive reality for himself. Gil already has raised over his goal of $60,000 on Kickstarter

Though ALS has received a lot of recent press, this project is not affiliated with the viral ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

“While the Ice Bucket Challenge has brought a tremendous amount of awareness to ALS, this film is meant to do something beyond that.”, said Green. “Our goal is to provide an insight not only to the effects of the disease, but to have people be inspired by Jeff’s courageous ability to maintain a positive daily outlook, amongst life’s biggest challenges.”

Jeremy Breslau, writer and director of "1982," earned his MFA in screenwriting from USC. While there, in addition to writing and directing award-winning shorts, his screenplay, "Plague Season," was a semi-finalist in the Nicholl Competition. Based on his Nicholl script, Fox Searchlight signed Jeremy to a first-look deal and produced his next short, after which he created a successful web series for MTV’s AtomFilms. Currently, Jeremy is developing two features that will utilize the talents of the team behind "1982."

"1982' features a blocked novelist who reflects on a pivotal year in his life, when, as a precocious six-year-old, he struggled for the attention of his bickering parents.

Perry King’s versatile career includes starring roles in film, television and on Broadway, with credits as far back as the '60s. King has been seen  “Riptide,"  “Melrose Place,"  “Spin City," “Will & Grace,” “The Cowboy and the Movie Star," “Her Married Lover,”  “The Perfect Wife," “Titans,"  "Cold Case," "Without a Trace," "Big Love," "Brothers and Sisters" and "The Day After Tomorrow" and much more.

After graduating from Yale with a B.A. in Theatre, King headed for New York, with a scholarship from the Julliard School, and worked on Broadway and off-Broadway.

Perry is currently in pre-production for a new independent movie, "The Divide," which will be King’s directorial debut for a feature film. King and his Left for Dead Productions collaborators, screenwriter Jana Brown and Chicago-area filmmaker Russ Rayburn, are in pre-production. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2015.

Set in drought-plagued Northern California in 1973, "The Divide" chronicles the story of Sam Kincaid (King), an aging rancher with a failing memory, his estranged and independent-minded daughter, Sarah, and Luke, a young ranch hand who finds himself in the midst of a family in crisis. Tanna Frederick recently wrapped production on Henry Jaglom’s romantic mystery “Ovation” starring opposite James Denton. The story is set in the backstage world of theatre where the cast struggles to keep their play afloat while they search for a murder suspect amongst themselves.

She has two films coming out next year -- Jaglom’s romantic comedy “The M Word” (with Corey Feldman, Michael Imperioli and Frances Fisher) will be released in January/February, and  “Garner, Iowa” where she stars as a single mother who returns to Iowa (Frederick’s hometown) to deal with her past, will be released in the spring.

She’s also hitting the boards in “The Rainmaker” at the Edgemar Theatre in Santa Monica. TheLos Angeles Times gave it Critics’ Choice and said, “The standout of this terrific cast is Tanna Frederick’s acerbically yearning Lizzie…It’s a transformation not to be missed.”

Frederick's performance in her first feature with Jaglom, “Hollywood Dreams,” earned her Best Actress at WorldFest Houston, Montana International Film Festival, Fargo Film Festival and the Wild Rose Film Festival. The film took Best Picture honors at the San Luis Obispo Film Festival and to Best Comedy at WorldFest Houston. She was named Method Fest’s “Performer to Watch” and has also received the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival’s “Maverick” Award.

Director Kel Thompson's documentary "Comedicness: The Quest for Essence" is an introspective look at what makes comedy funny. Host Jesse Furman interviews comedians and entertainers from a broad spectrum of comedy platforms including regionally famous, and a national headliner. The interviews are interspersed with their live performances to give the viewer an intimate look at the nuances and subtleties behind the humor. interviews some great comedians about how the got into the biz and all about what makes people laugh. Included comedians are Tom Cotter, Jason Pennington, Virginia Sinicki, Kevin Rolston, Robert Provine and “Ford ...”

Thompson has been in the biz, always creating plenty of content. This radio show will reveal some of Thompson's many projects and explore in depth "Comedicness."

Joshua Adams CEO/founder "Cosplayer Nation" started working in the feed of media early of 2005 at cyberstationusa.com as a Host/DJ on his own show. But he has been going to conventions since 2001 and always thought cosplay was a fascinating subject to film. Thus, "Cosplayer Nation" was born.

The film was shown at the Florida Supercon Super Geek Film Festival.
