This show was quite the milestone: # 500. How many indie-anythings last 500 episodes?
Of course we didn’t pat ourselves on the back; we had a tonne of great new indie that need to be celebrated. We never saw saw IndieCan as a show about our show. It was about the artists. Who can name the most famous piece of art in the world?
Okay, it is Mona Lisa, you knew that, right? Now close your eyes and tell me if you can picture this most famous of paintings; got it? Now, what does the frame look like?
Say what? The frame—no one remembers the frame. That’s okay with us. In fact, that’s how we see IndieCan Radio’s role for over a decade: We frame the music. You won’t and don’t need to remember us… it’s not us you’ve been tuning in to listen to for ten+ years. IndieCan is the forgettable frame; but still, we know what an important job we have—we’re drawing your attention to the fucking Mona Lisa.
Enjoy as we will, our flash from the past of Episode 500 of IndieCan Radio

Lonely Vagabond, you started this by tweeting the memory of Toronto band Red Light Riot - not to be confused with Melbourne AU Red Light Riot). This is a 2007 Fashback that looks at what was beautiful to team IndieCan then from Rockabilly to Queen Street West punk. We look at a moment in time in the careers of:
What is success? Relative I guess, not what we expect, I am sure. want to listen to indiecan music day, even just a replay,

Just a pandemic Monday
Rendezvous With Madness 2020 had just gone virtual by necessity, at the time of recording this Lock-down Episode of IndieCan. RWM is an addiction and mental health film and art festival put on by Workman Arts and Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto Canada. There is always a music story in a soundtrack or a documentary about a musician suffering from problems other than rhymes. And now, more than ever, depression and anxiety are the new normal. How do addicts and crazies set themselves apart?
Musically, here's the best music you've never heard: Foolproof, Terra Lightfoot, The Elwins,
Flamingo Báy, Rich Aucoin, Whale and the Wolf, SAUL, Dead Romantic, Goodnight, Sunrise,
Autopilot, Dinosoul, Indie Week's Darryl Hurs, MAYBE MAY, Stephen Fearing, Kym Simon, Barry Muir, David James McCallum, Gord Downie, NOBRO & The Dears
