Welcome back to Rising Warriors Rachael Kulei. 

Today I have the honor of having one of our Indigenous Educators here in Portland, Oregon speaking with us. This is something that I feel in my heart that needs to be talked about and people need to be educated on this topic, "Two-Spirit". Being a Two-Spirit myself, this is a vulnerable and can be a scary thing to talk about as an Indigenous person. Please be respectful, come with no judgement and have an open mind.

Generational Two-Spirit who comes from an urban raised background where acceptance and safe spaces weren’t available within indigenous communities due to ongoing assimilation, racism, oppression, and discrimination influences from western cultures and religions. Through resiliency and advocacy efforts, Renea continues to work diligently to bring awareness in indigenous communities and organizations regarding the need for programming, resources, and safe spaces for Two Spirit youth and people.
