This is the second episode in our three part series about the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) at UC Berkeley. In this episode we focus on implementation of NAGPRA through an interview with Melanie O’brien. Melanie is the manager of the national NAGPRA program and oversees and administers the national implementation of NAGPRA. She tells us what the law requires and how it is implemented particularly in California for federally unrecognized tribes.
