Let’s not forget Veteran’s Day, Nov 11. Jan and I recently visited DC, and I took this video. So I am showing this video, even though it’s more appropriate for Memorial Day, in May. Any way you look at it, and at any time, let’s always remember those who make sacrifices that most of us are not prepared to make.
If you study history, any history, you get pulled in deeper and deeper. In things that matter, there are no easy answers that explain everything. If it all makes sense to you, you might not be thinking hard enough. Or you may not know enough.
I didn’t want to go to Vietnam, few people wanted to. But some went anyway, either out of a sense of duty, or because they were drafted. I was almost drafted, but not quite.
I was off the hook, but thousands were not. I know that totalitarian aggression from the Soviet Union and China had to be stopped. But at what price, and who pays it?
