In 2015, the NCAA handed down harsh sanctions on the Syracuse basketball program and Head Coach Jim Boeheim.

In 1982, San Antonio's George Gervin scored 50 in a shootout with Milwaukee's Brian Winters, who scored 42 in a game that set the then NBA record for most combined points in a game.
