Acts 16:23-26 The Message

23 After beating them black-and-blue, they threw them into jail, telling the jailkeeper to put them under heavy guard so there would be no chance of escape.

24 He did just that—threw them into the maximum security cell in the jail and clamped leg irons on them.

17 The elders who perform their leadership duties well are to be considered worthy of double honor (financial support), especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching [the word of God concerning eternal salvation through Christ].

27 Then Peter chimed in, “We left everything and followed you. What do we get out of it?”

28-30 Jesus replied, “Yes, you have followed me. In the re-creation of the world, when the Son of Man will rule gloriously, you who have followed me will also rule, starting with the twelve tribes of Israel. And not only you, but anyone who sacrifices home, family, fields—whatever—because of me will get it all back a hundred times over, not to mention the considerable bonus of eternal life. This is the Great Reversal: many of the first ending up last, and the last first.”

1. Things do not change until you activate the element for the change. a body will remain in it's present state until an external body acts on it.

2. God will not do for you what He has empowered you to do.

3. A champion is known by his works through a resolved will, but a loser/weakling is known by his decision to quit.
