The new LIDAR feature offers even more functionality for certain phones, allowing users to not only locate things in a space, but also have an idea where and how far away they are! This service lets you shop for groceries from the comfort of your own home, using an app or a website. In this exciting episode of TEC Talk Live, Luke and Cory, assistive technology specialists at Vision Forward, take a look at the Louie app. This app was designed by a gentleman named Pramit, who is himself visually impaired, and gives Android users better access to certain apps using only their voices. There is much more access to apps such as contacts, calls, YouTube, Whatsapp and Uber, and the voice interface is very easy to use. If you know someone who struggles using their phone due to vision loss, and they aren't able to learn screen reader use, then Louie could be just the app for them! 

The second part of our two part series on internet use with a screen reader covers a couple more strategies that you can use when navigating the internet with no vision. In this episode we cover the JAWS find feature, place markers and using webpage elements as navigational tools.
