Sy (Seymour) Garte, PhD in biochemistry, is the author of the award-winning book The Works of His Hands: A Scientist’s Journey from Atheism to Faith (Kregel Publications, 2019). He has been a tenured professor at New York University, Rutgers University, and the University of Pittsburgh, division director at the Center for Scientific Review of the National Institutes of Health, and interim vice president for research at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He is currently visiting professor of pharmacology and toxicology at Rutgers University. He has published over two hundred peer-reviewed scientific papers and five books, as well as articles on science and Christian faith in periodicals such as Perspectives in Science and Christian Faith, More to Life, and Christianity Today.
