Interviewer: Good morning everyone and welcome to a new interview. Last year a new building project located on the outskirts of the city started. It is called the ‘Five stars school’. The main idea of the project is to have buildings that have a positive and beneficial impact on the environment. We invited the architect Rian Jenner to our program.

Architect: Good morning. And thanks for inviting me to your program.

Interviewer: Before starting, I’d like to listen to you since you have been named as the father of the new architecture, Building a better new world. When did you come up with that idea?

Architect: Well, I started to think about it when I was a graduate student at Brown University in the U.S., I had the opportunity to design an eco-house as a part of a project, so I got extremely interested in green architecture and so, I think it was the first time I came up with the idea.

Interviewer: So, can you explain to us what Green architecture is?

Architect: It started a few years ago and it can be defined as a concept to describe the low impact that a building can have on the environment.

Interviewer: And what is the difference between your idea and the one established by green architecture?

Architect: I not only try to reduce the impact on the environment, but I aim to change and improve it.

Interviewer: What are you exactly talking about?

Architect: I’m talking about changing the perception of building as a harmful thing and that’s what the school project was made for. When I was at the university, I realized that buildings might be hazardous to the soil, the air, and the water. Why haven’t people tried to change it? We have used materials that damage our environment. So, what about using materials that not only protect but also provide something good?

Interviewer: This project seems to be expensive. Could everyone afford to pay for those kinds of places?

Architect: I must confess that I did not think that the project could be successful. But we have! It seems like people feel comfortable with what we have used to build their places and we receive customers every day asking to get a new building project.

Interviewer: But don’t you think that people might think it is just another green architecture project?

Architect: Yes and no. This is a project that involves green architecture, but this is also a project where people are more important than making money. We focus on both offering a quality service and mixing it with beauty. Improvement is the key.

Interviewer: And can ordinary people pay for it?

Architect: Even if it is expensive, people pay for it. They pay for something that makes them happy.
