Smooth-talking scoundrel Jace Lawson has a foolproof plan to escape the Oubliette: break into the hangar, get to his shuttles, and leave everyone else wondering how he pulled it off. The only complication is surviving long enough to get there. Fortunately, the Guardians bring all the muscle and firepower he could ask for, and they're eager to use it. Good thing Jace never worries about the odds, because to anyone else, this would look like an exceptionally bad idea.

The Guardians are sentenced to life in the Oubliette's dungeons. But when a mysterious benefactor offers Sabynne a perilous quest for their freedom, the promise feels too good to be true...and too dangerous to trust.

Ripped out of their reality, the Guardians find themselves bound as slaves and forced to kill for the entertainment of thousands of spectators from across the Planes, or die trying.  

Calienvaroe is held captive by dragons and drake in a tall, ruined tower of an ancient fortress. Sabynne and Vessel attempt to rescue her without alerting the Drakes. Luminara's visions of the future predict that countless lives will be lost if they do not succeed. Zaldor makes a plan for escape no matter the cost of sacrifice.

The Guardians fight a horde of Dragons to the death with the help of Luminara, an ancient Omen dragon and ally from their past. But Luminara did not arrive by chance; she is here for a greater purpose and requires the aid of the heroes if she hopes to succeed.
